| Maybe this jogs a few people's memories. A Jubilee Celebration book, published by Middlesex County Council, was handed to schoolchildren in Middlesex in 1939. This one was given to Eric Hayles, a pupil of Townfield School, Hayes, Middlesex, in 1945. A teacher was clearing out a cupboard and had a few left, still wrapped in coloured tissue. Here's a selection of pictures from the book. There are nearly 250 pages in all, packed with interesting historical information and photographs. The book celebrates the council's Golden Jubilee (1889-1939) and includes a letter signed by the Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain. | ||||
